Thomas F. Chelf, Jr.


Mr. Chelf has been performing orchestral percussion for 14 years. He has also professionally performed in Jazz, Latin, Rock, and other styles of music on a drum set for 8 years. His experience includes performances with the Pinellas County Center for the Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida, Florida Symphony Orchestra, Valley Symphony Orchestra in South Texas, for President Bill Clinton and her Royal Majesty, Elizabeth II of Great Britain, at the Don Cezar Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida, and various performances around the U.S. and Mexico.

Mr. Chelf attended Pinellas County Center for the Arts, Arts Magnet Program in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Seagoville High School, Seagoville, Texas in 1996. After high school he attended Eastfield College as a Music Education Major and then continued his studies at the University of Texas, Pan Am, having been awarded a Jazz scholarship.

In the past 5 years, including his college years, Mr. Chelf has been teaching group percussion and private drum set lessons to students from 8 years of age and up. Throughout his education and career, Mr. Chelf's driving passion for music has inspired him to instruct a new generation of artists.

Lesson availability: beginning and intermediate

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 1 hr group orchestral (3 students minimum) or 30-minute drum set private lessons

  • Tuesdays: 6:30-8:30 p.m.

  • Wednesdays: 6:30-8:30 p.m. (6:30-7:30 p.m. currently booked with 3 students; 1 more available)
